Legal & privacy
We Are Single Parents is operated by Thesudoku, Inc. This page summarizes the terms that apply while the service is in beta and serving the Dallas area.
Cancellation & refund rights (Texas)
If you're a Texas resident, this notice applies to you under the Texas Dating Service contract statute:
YOU MAY CANCEL THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT PENALTY OR OBLIGATION WITHIN THREE (3) BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE DATE YOU SIGN THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU CANCEL, ANY MONEY YOU HAVE PAID WILL BE REFUNDED IN FULL WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS OF THE DATE WE RECEIVE YOUR WRITTEN NOTICE OF CANCELLATION.
To cancel your account, email hello@wearesingleparents.com. Because you are only ever charged when someone accepts your chat request (see Pricing below), an unaccepted request is never a charge in the first place — the hold is released automatically.
Safety notice — no background checks
We Are Single Parents is a social introduction service that recommends members to one another and lets them open a private 1:1 chat. We do not conduct criminal background checks, sex-offender registry checks, or government-ID identity verification on members. Conversations happen on our platform; if you later choose to share contact details or meet in person, you do so at your own discretion. You are solely responsible for exercising care and judgment when connecting with anyone through this service. This disclosure is provided in accordance with state social-referral service laws, including New Jersey's Internet Dating Safety Act and 815 ILCS 518 (Illinois).
What this service is (and isn't)
We recommend members to each other based on the information you provide — the gender and age range of the people you hope to meet, your own gender and age, and how serious you're looking to be. Some members are open to new relationships and some are here for friendship; we don't represent that any particular introduction will lead to a relationship. We are a social introduction service, not a matchmaking guarantee or an escort service.
Privacy
We collect your first name, email, and quiz answers (your gender and age, who you're hoping to meet, how many children you have, your neighborhood, and when you can meet), plus your chat and request history. This data is used only to recommend members and run the service — we do not sell it to third parties. In your recommendations, other members are shown to you (and you to them) by a limited, non-identifying summary — gender, age range, and general area only. A member's first name and chosen avatar become visible to the other person only once a paid 1:1 chat is opened between the two of you. Your email, exact address, and contact details are never shown to other members. All data is stored with our database provider and is otherwise accessed only by our backend, never by the public.
Pricing
Opening a 1:1 chat costs $2.40. When you send a chat request, we place a temporary hold on your card — you are charged only if the other person accepts your request. If they decline, or don't respond within seven (7) days, the hold is released automatically and you are not charged. Leaving a chat after it has opened does not entitle you to a refund of that $2.40.
Payments are securely processed by Hooms, Inc. — you may see the name “Hooms” on the checkout page. That's us; your card statement will show WEARESINGLEPARENTS.
